Ministries at TRC

Everything we do is an effort to make much of Jesus and advance the Kingdom while aligning with our mission and vision we are called to as a church. Our goal is to operate through a Kingdom framework, where we focus on four key shifts that traditional church frameworks miss:

This is a shift toward the biblical reality of who we are and what we are created for.

  • This shift causes us to stop looking for more spiritual goods and services and instead evaluate how the Holy Spirit has gifted us for the church and the world.
  • This shift causes us to recognize that Jesus has given us everything we need for life and godliness and calls us to put those gifts to work.

  • This shift changes the question from:

    • “What did you get out of the service?”
    • “What did you get out of small group?”

    to:

    • “What did I contribute to the advance of the gospel?”
  • This shift causes us to see every member of the local church as a missionary ambassador of the Kingdom.
  • This shift causes us to see the local church as the primary mission-sending agency.

This shift changes how we organize our work and what work gets done.

  • This shift keeps TRC narrow and focused on sending, rather than defaulting to doing more work that may not be necessary.
  • This shift keeps the church focused on releasing equipped saints together on mission.
  • It releases the whole church to care for and serve one another, rather than depending on one or two people—or a small group of people—to carry the ministry.
  • This shift is Spirit-led as members of the church take ownership and responsibility for action:
    • At home
    • On the job
    • In the community
  • Members are released into:
    • Disciple-making
    • Church multiplication
    • Serving one another
  • This shift begins to change the landscape of the professional missionary-sending enterprise by moving mobilization toward vocational domains, rather than depending exclusively on funded Christian sending platforms.

This shift is about developing meaningful relationships within our city and with our city leaders.

  • This changes how we interact with our community.
  • We become partners with the city, helping create solutions for the city’s challenges.
  • Rather than simply providing “spiritual goods” or organizing events primarily designed to get people to attend our church, we seek to contribute to the health and flourishing of the whole community.
  • This shift makes us value-added partners in the public square.
  • Through meaningful service, relationships, and demonstrated commitment to the good of the city, we earn opportunities to interact with integrity with people of other faiths and worldviews.
  • From a position of meaningful public-square engagement, we are able to faithfully share the good news of Jesus.

This shift is about releasing the body of Christ to supply its part, caring for and serving one another without continually creating new organizational branches that require additional funding, oversight, and labor.

  • We must provide members with better tools to live as equipped saints.
  • Members should be released to function according to the gifts Christ has given His church, including:
    • Apostles
    • Prophets
    • Evangelists
    • Pastors
    • Teachers
  • This is why the Radical Life Group is the epicenter of ministry.
  • The RLG represents the church dispersed and on mission together while serving one another.

What Do We Do? 

Radical Kids

Radical Kids serves children between the ages of 6 weeks old through 5th grade. On the last Sunday of each month, children in 1st through 5th grade get to worship with their families in our main worship service while RK is still available for babies through Kindergarten.

All workers have passed background checks. It’s not babysitting. It’s Kingdom preparation. Therefore, TRC uses curriculum from The Gospel Project so that kids can see God’s story throughout the entirety of the Bible and their place in that story.

Students

Through the practice of discipleship, we equip students to be sent into their present and future domains by creating a foundation of studying and applying Scripture.

The TRC Student Ministry meets weekly throughout the school year on Wednesday nights from 6:30pm - 8:00pm and is for students in 6th through 12th grade.

Radical Life Groups

RLG’s are one of the primary ways we participate in Christian community at TRC including the meeting of practical needs and pastoral care. This is where we experience the 59 “one another” commands in the New Testament about how we are to live in the Kingdom of God.

While the meeting day and time and format of each group will vary some, each group shares some common practices centered around the components of the Radical Life: Up (Life with God), In (Life in covenant with other Christians, and Out (Life in the World).

Global Engagement

Throughout our history as a church, dozens of members and partners have been sent from TRC to serve in both long-term and short-term missions.

Our people have served all of the world including Afghanistan, Iraq, India, Turkey, China, Kenya, Dominican Republic, England, and many others. Now we focus on one specific location overseas where the Lord is doing amazing work. To learn more about that, contact a GE ministry director. 


Local Engagement

As mentioned in our DNA, we engage society through domains. Domains are the power structure of society designed by God to exert massive influence and provide leadership and direction in society.

Domains are unique but connected together forming the tapestry of society and allow us to better relate how we manifest Kingdom work in real life. We partner and support numerous local organizations like Restoration Rome, Haven Health, and more.

Hospitality

Hospitality is a key component of Three Rivers that we take very seriously and believe it to be a crucial ministry. By default, anyone who is a member at TRC, is a greeter.

Our Hospitality team ensures that all set up components are in good order and oversee RLG’s execution of the set up plan. They also keep our communion elements and welcome table components in stock and easily accessible and help lead and serve at church events and meetings as well.

Worship & Audio/Visual

We choose songs that are strong and accurate in theology and that are singable by our congregation to help our people worship authentically.

Our Audio Visual team oversees the production on Sunday morning including running sound, lyrics, and our live-stream.

These two teams work hand in hand to make much of Jesus and to foster an environment where people are free to worship Jesus in spirit and truth.

Church Planting

This ministry will continue the vision and mission of TRC and GlocalNet by training pastors, church planters, and domain leaders from around the world to plant Kingdom focused churches and to establish Kingdom DNA through the teaching and implementation of KDSC. 

We also train and mobilize our own TRC members to engage and disrupt their domains with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Click the Church Planting tab to learn more.

Communication and Events

We are church that seeks to communicate often with our church members, visitors, and those not familiar with us. We do this through email, videos, announcements, newsletters, text blasts, and social media channels. 

We also value fellowship with each other and plan various excellent events throughout the year that are fun, usually involve food, and are a great time to spend together with believers outside of Sunday mornings and small group
